​I am very honored and humbled to become the Grand Worthy Matron of Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star, State of Washington, and Jurisdiction for the Masonic year 2022-2023.  I accept this position with a full and grateful heart.  My obligation is to devote every effort to lead this organization. 
I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, and I have confidence, that this will be a year of inspiration and hope for success, as we continue to move forward in a positive direction.  However, I cannot do it alone.  It will take the effort of each and every one of us.
Looking to the future.
There have been many challenges throughout the past couple of years, violence, pandemics, and death.  However, there have been many accomplishments.  We have our first black female Vice President and the first black female to serve as Justice on the United States Supreme Court, and our own organization, have its first male to serve as a Grand Trustee. We still have a long way to go.  As I look around, we have so many new members that are eager to learn and grow as well as many members to reclaim.  So, let’s not let them get away.  As we look to the future, I am hopeful that you will join with me in taking on the responsibility of working together to make Prince Hall Grand Chapter what I knew it to be when I first became a member of this organization, and what I know it can be.  Let us continue to work together so that we can become a strong presence in our organization as well as in our community.
Every one of us stood before the altar and took the oath to love one another, respect one another, learn, teach, grow, and work in unity with one another.
My goal for the year is to focus on our youth and young girls.  Many of us have daughters that have so much to offer this organization and many talented individuals with awesome skills to share. 
Charity – This year I will focus on Breast Cancer/Breast Cancer research.  Many of us have loved ones, family members and friends who lost their battle with breast cancer or are still fighting the battle.  Join with me as we do what we can in support of this very persistent disease.
I am looking forward to working with all of you, and again I thank you for electing me as your Grand Worthy Matron.
